This app doesn't collect or store anything you type. Text you paste or write is counted and analyzed entirely in your browser — it never reaches our server. The one exception is the optional Scan feature: if you choose to upload an image, PDF, or Word document to extract its text, that file is sent to our server for processing — see "Scanning a file" below for exactly what that involves.
The Scan feature lets you upload an image, PDF, or .docx file to extract
its text. Using it is entirely optional — everything else in this app still works
without it, and without anything reaching our server. If you do use it:
Your browser holds a standard session cookie used only to protect page submissions from cross-site forgery (a security mechanism, not a tracking mechanism). It isn't used to identify you or to remember anything about your visit.
Like virtually any web server, ours logs basic technical request information (e.g. IP address, page requested, timestamp) for security, troubleshooting, and aggregate traffic counts (e.g. how many requests we get in a day). These logs don't include anything you typed into the tool, aren't shared with any third party, and aren't used to build a profile of you or track you across visits.
If what this app collects ever changes, we'll update this page and its "Last updated" date above.
